Encouragement

Alyssa texted this to me last week while Mike and I were out running errands.  Before you start sending her care packages or anything, she is 21 years old, in nursing school and not at all neglected.  She thought she was hilarious and we all got a good laugh out of it.  I haven’t really been blogging that long and it feels weird to even call it that because I don’t really know what I’m doing but my goal in starting this was to encourage others.  I love cooking and baking and I feel like meals together have been important in our family.  Along the way I have really come to love writing about the things I bake and cook.  At the same time I really strive to be a good steward of my time, energy and gifts.  I am always praying that I am doing what God wants me to be doing not just what I want to be doing.

Just yesterday, I was really thinking that maybe no one was benefiting from my posts and recipes and praying for God to tell me what I should be doing.  I love how He uses friends and family to encourage us.  Today I woke up to a Facebook message from a family member telling me that she is getting a bread maker this weekend.  Then I got another Facebook comment that turned into a string of texts from a dear friend who has been trying many of the recipes and was asking for other recipes.  It literally made my day.  I shared with Mike that I had been concerned that I wasn’t really being useful with this blog and he asked if I was considering going back to raising Alyssa.  My family is so funny.

1 Corinthians 10:31 says…So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.  With that in mind I will continue “blogging” until I feel that He directs me elsewhere.

Blessings,

Kaye Lynn
